North Georgia Recycling Inc. will assist Pickens County and the city of Jasper through a curbside recycling service. Service will be provided for residential and commercial business facilities. The recycling service will be provided for a low monthly fee ranging from $10 for residential and $25-$30 for commercial service. North Georgia Recycling will collect plastics, glass, cardboard, mixed papers, newspapers, and aluminum. These collected recyclables will be donated in their proper forms to the Pickens County Recycling Center. Donated recyclables from North Georgia Recycling will increase the amount that Pickens County is able to sell at market while at the same time decreasing the amount of refuse (trash) the county has to deal with. Costs go down and land is saved!

Containers to hold the recyclables until pickup day will be provided for free. Residential will be picked up bi-weekly and businesses, depending on their requirements, will be picked up weekly. Each month North Georgia Recycling Inc. will contribute 30% of its fees to the Returning Parents Scholarship Fund (RPSF) at Appalachian Technical Institute. This scholarship has been established in conjunction with North Georgia Recycling and Appalachian Technical Institute (ATI). The RPSF will be available to single parents who are enrolled and attend two or more classes at ATI. Assistance will be provided in the following forms:

gas vouchers
vehicle maintenance
book allowances
child care
uniform reimbursement
monetary awards from $100-$250

North Georgia Recycling's goal is to increase the awareness of the community in regards to recycling by providing a curbside service while at the same time bettering the opportunities for adult education. North Georgia Recycling wants to help you make a difference! "Do What You Can"
